We are looking for a Special Projects Associate, reporting to the CEO. In this role, you will work directly with the CEO to test ideas, create and trial new projects, work with cross disciplinary teams, manage the CEO’s high-volume inbox and busy schedule. You are comfortable managing projects, are organized and have the ability to bring structure to the CEO’s ideas, projects and day-to-day schedule. This is an excellent opportunity to learn, grow and work with a fast-growing mission-driven organization. This position is based in Raleigh-Durham.

Responsibilities

  • Assist CEO with strategy development and associated tactical plans for execution
  • Manage projects and implementations including projects that need attention and keep getting pushed to the side due to competing priorities
  • Support the CEO in all administrative functions including calendaring, schedule management, presentation preparation, inbox management, travel coordination, and expense reconciliation
  • Own the CEO’s calendar and ensure that conflicts do not happen, critical meetings aren’t missed, and meetings are properly prioritized
  • Facilitate meetings by preparing presentations, managing agendas, capturing action items, and documenting outcomes
  • Ensure the CEO stays on top of his endless task list
  • Assist the COO with scheduling board meetings, investor calls, and other high priority events
  • Partner on logistical planning and execution of team events at our Durham office location
  • Connect with members of the team at all levels, and be a person that they rely on and trust

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years experience in a business role
  • Experience working at a startup or a fast-paced environment
  • Expert-level proficiency in software tools such as Google Workspace, MS Office Suite (specifically PowerPoint) and Slack
  • Detail-oriented and ask questions when you need clarification
  • Enjoy supporting and empowering others
  • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities and resolve problems, often under time pressure
  • Possess exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Use discretion and exercise excellent judgment
