We are looking for an experienced Pet Food sales and marketing leader to drive brand retail sales strategy and growth plans across the US. Expanding Wild Earth’s footprint in strategic retailers is the company's top priority. This person will direct and execute our retail strategy while creating customer demand in support of our mission. Success will be measured by achieving growth in sales velocity and increasing the number of stores selling our products. This position reports directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Serve as the head of Retail sales for the company, be a dedicated manager for your team, provide insights and guidance on short & long-term growth strategies.
  • Sales Strategy and Growth: Continually create, update, and implement strategic plans by channel and account, with a focus on long term goals, and an awareness of short-term tactical opportunities. Achieve customer volume, revenue and profit goals.
  • Target setting - set targets for monthly, quarterly and yearly goals for each territory and across US retail
  • Account Management: Hands-on communication, developing strategic relationships with key accounts. Bring retailer-specific awareness for how to best navigate challenging situations and competing priorities.
  • Distributor Management: Manage and evaluate distributor partners through quarterly business reviews, ACV targets, targeted SKU introductions and volume/profit goal attainment.
  • Brand Leadership: Work with the Director of Creative & Brand on strategies and positioning. Creatively find ways to capture market research to analyze performance of competitors.
  • Channel Development: Work across distributors/independent pet & multi-store chains
  • Analytical Leadership: Bring an approach strong in quantitative and financial metrics, as well as one that shows a deep understanding of how retail works, and how to best position a brand to win long-term.
    • Uses analytics for:
      • Pricing and promoting structure and plans
      • Effectiveness and ROI on marketing efforts
      • New product launch campaigns

Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience in pet food sales & management
  • Extensive knowledge and experience selling to retail partners
  • Growth-oriented, you enjoy a fast pace, relentless competing demands, and working cross-functionally to succeed
  • You are curious to learn more and fully understand all aspects of the business with an energy level that strives for more
  • Extremely analytical – someone who looks at retailer data for fun, and finds stories within it.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative and ability to unify a team
  • Remote position but may require extensive travel to meet with customers

Salary

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000-$150,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. HR can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
